Japanese maple - lat. Acer palmatum ‘Bloodgood’

An attractive deciduous tree, that is slow in growth. Can be found in various colors and with different leaf shapes.

Its natural habitat is the Far East.

The palm-leaved maple is a slow-growing species, so in addition to being an ideal tree for any garden, it is also an ideal tree for balconies and terraces as it tolerates growth in containers as well. When choosing a container, make sure that the jar is twice the size of the roots. The tree is recommended to be plant on sunny or partial shade positions. If the tree is planted in a container, it is better to keep it in partial shade as the soil in containers dries faster. During the summer months it is recommended to water the plant every day or every second one. In winter months it should be sheltered in a warmer place where not too much water reaches the tree, so that water is not retained in the pot. It can be pruned in late summer so that the wounds heal until frost.

Common diseases are root rot, scales, and spider mites.

It is not poisonous, which makes it even more suitable for gardens where children and animals play.
