- Move plants from the direct sunlight (windows facing south or west) to a place where the sun does not reach from 11 am onwards or move 1 to 2 m away from the window - For smaller pots - using a shallow container that that will be big enough to fit all the plant pots, firstly place sand, clay balls, towels or newspaper at the bottom of it and then pour enough water to make the filling moist. You can then arrange the pots together on that container. They can also be placed in the sink on a soaked towel, but only if the sink is not too far from the window (not more than 5m) or shielded from light sources - For plants that are in larger pots with no decorative bark or granules on top, cover with pieces of moist newspaper, so the moisture stays inside the soil for longer. There are also various water tanks that can be bought that can be driven into the ground which gradually release water. These can also be made themselves from plastic bottles. - Do not overdo watering in the hope that the plants will be watered longer, because standing water in plantpots can cause root rot, which is more fatal for plants than a few days without water.
