Dragon tree -lat. Dracena marginata

The dragon tree can have different leaf colors and can have one or more stems. A plant that can be found in many homes because it’s easy to take care of. It originates from Madagascar and Mauritius. Like most houseplants, it likes bright places without direct sunlight, but it tolerates well positions with less light, only then will the leaf color be less intense and it will grow slower. It should be watered when the substrate dries, approximately every 10-14 days. It is easily propagated by cuttings, by cutting off part of the dragon tree and putting the cuttings in water, after 3 weeks it should sprout roots. Common diseases are root rot and scales. Slightly poisonous to humans. Cats and dogs in the other hand can get nausea and start vomiting. It’s an ideal plant for beginners.
